United Fresh Pleased with Progress Made on Long-Term Transportation Bill

Oct 22, 2015

“The passage today of H.R. 3763, the Surface Transportation Reauthorization and Reform (STRR) Act of 2015 by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee is a positive step in the direction to passing multi-year legislation that would improve the nation’s infrastructure and modernize our vast transportation network. Moving highly perishable produce safely and quickly is critical for America’s fresh produce industry so that we can provide consumers with an abundant and nutritious supply of fresh fruits and vegetables. United Fresh commends Chairman Shuster (R-Pa.), Ranking Member DeFazio (D-Ore.) and members of the committee for working together to produce the first long-term transportation reauthorization legislation in a decade. We will continue to work with members of Congress to pass a long-overdue and much-needed multi-year reauthorization of federal transportation programs that meets the needs of the fresh produce industry.”
