Supermarket Guru to Showcase Hottest 2015 Food Trends at Midwinter Leadership Forum

WASHINGTON, DC – Attendees at United’s Midwinter Leadership Forum will have a front row seat to examine the hottest trends shaping the 2015 food and retail landscape from renowned food industry expert Phil Lempert, known as the Supermarket Guru®.

Lempert, a well-known expert analyst on consumer behavior and food marketing trends, will be the keynote speaker at the Keynote Leadership Breakfast, part United’s Midwinter Leadership Forum. The forum takes place January 13-15, 2015 at La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs, CA.

Lempert has a 20-plus year career as the food trends editor and correspondent for NBC News’ Today show, as well as regular appearances on ABC’s The View, The Oprah Winfrey Show, 20/20, CNN, CNBC, FOX, and local television programs throughout the country.

He is the founder of SupermarketGuru.com, a site visited annually by more than 9 million consumers, and the founder and editor of The Lempert Report, Food, Nutrition & Science, the Facts, Figures & the Future, and The Food Journal. He is a contributing editor for Supermarket News, as well as a regular columnist for The Chicago Sun-Times, Huffington Post and Celebrity Cooking Magazine.

In addition to the Keynote Leadership Breakfast, the Midwinter Leadership Forum also features United’s annual Produce Legends Dinner on Tuesday evening January 13, this year honoring Mike Cavallero, retired President of North American Tropical Fresh Fruit for Dole Fresh Fruit Company. The day begins with the annual United Fresh Start Foundation Golf Tournament at the famous PGA West Stadium course, raising funds to support increased children’s access to fresh fruits and vegetables. The Midwinter Leadership Forum is also the gathering spot for meetings of hundreds of industry leaders who serve on United’s volunteer boards and councils.
