The 2009 Fresh Festival, held September 9 in the historic Cannon Caucus Room, included 19 companies exhibiting apples, avocadoes, bananas, blueberries, carrots, mushrooms, pears, pineapples, potatoes, strawberries and watermelon! With over 700 attendees, including produce industry leaders from across the country, Members of Congress, USDA and FDA officials and key staff members, the Fresh Festival on Capitol Hill is a unique, fun-filled evening that celebrates produce. This event enables produce companies to share samples of their healthy and delicious fruits and vegetables while educating policy makers about our industry's top policy issues.
