Calibration Committee

The Calibration Committee was formed by the Operations Committee at their final meeting in November 2010, with a dual role to develop training materials for auditors using the harmonized standards and to resolve disputes in interpretation of the harmonized standards, to serve as real-time arbiters in the interpretation of the standard when questions arise.

This Committee is made up of auditor trainers from auditing organizations that expect to use the harmonized standard and subject matter experts from a variety of fresh produce commodities, regions and size operations. While the actual policies the Committee will operate under will ultimately be developed by the Committee itself, the current vision requires the Committee to have an established, standing membership, who will be responsible for training development and dispute resolution. 

In the latter, the Committee members will be ready to respond quickly to questions about interpretation, as those questions will most likely arise in the middle of an audit and will need to be answered before the audit is completed.  While the Committee will be responsible for making the interpretation, those interpretations will be forwarded to the full Technical Working Group (TWG) for concurrence and will be posted on this website.
