With technical representatives from over 65 United Fresh member organizations, the
United Fresh Food Safety & Technology Council is the produce industry’s strongest technical resource. The FS&T Council works on all aspects of food security, food safety, and technology through the total supply chain, working to bring the safest, highest-quality produce most efficiently to end consumers. The FS&T Council has been active in providing input into the commodity guidance documents, the FDA's Produce Safety Action Plan and in developing research proposals.
Members of the Food Safety & Technology Council volunteer their time to shape industry policies. The Council coordinates to develop guidelines, educational programs and other documents that address a diverse array of food safety and technology issues affecting the produce industry.
The Food Safety & Technology Council convenes at each United Fresh tradeshow event. Specific working groups may meet as needed by phone or in person between times in order to work on specific issues. Updates by working groups are given during regular council meetings or as necessary.
