AUGUST 26-28
Registration Now Open!

United Fresh Research & Education Foundation announces that registration is now open for the next Training for a Recall, Communicating Under Fire course to be offered August 26-28 in Yakima, Washington.

This popular course has already been held in Baltimore, MD, San Francisco, CA and Phoenix, AZ with sell-out attendance each time. “Companies throughout the supply chain are telling us that they want and need to know how to handle all aspects of a recall,” said Amy Philpott, vice president of marketing and industry relations at United Fresh. “Attendees get a lot of value out of the course because it is very practical and immediately applicable to daily operations.”

Training for a Recall, Communicating Under Fire is a multi-part course, including a two-day workshop, Tuesday, August 26 and Wednesday, August 27, on how to prevent a product recall from becoming a crisis and a half day of media training. The first part of the course emphasizes the legal liability and implications of a recall, the role of testing in the decision making process, the importance of traceability and how to apply a crisis plan to product recall situations.

The second part, Thursday, August 28, includes training by communications and public affairs specialists on how to deliver messages under the pressure of a real-life interview. To ensure each attendee will have an opportunity to experience on-camera mock media interviews, the class size for the half-day media training is limited to sixteen attendees and requires a separate registration.
