United Fresh will reach out to the Washington State fruit and vegetable industry in Town Hall meetings scheduled for December 18 in Yakima, and December 19 in Wenatchee. The Town Hall meetings are part of a year-long “2008 Listening Tour” designed to better understand and serve the specific needs of members in different regions and segments of the produce industry. “These Town Hall meetings are designed to spend time with members where they do their jobs every day, not just at conventions or conferences,” said United Fresh President Tom Stenzel. Thanks to Northwest Horticultural Council President Chris Schlect and Crunch Pak Owner and United Fresh Board member Diane Huntsinger-Carson who will host the meetings in Yakima and Wenatchee, respectively. Town Hall meetings are also scheduled at the Hunts Point Market in New York City December 4, and the Philadelphia Regional Produce Market December 5. For more information about attending one of the United Fresh Town Hall meetings, please contact Mary Wallace Teague, 202-303-3415. To schedule a Town Hall meeting in your area, please contact Jeff Oberman, 831-422-0940.
