Continuing their nationwide tour of imported food facilities, United Fresh helped arrange a visit yesterday by Secretary of Health and Human Services Mike Leavitt and other government officials to the Chicago International Produce Market. United Fresh Grassroots and Policy Manager Angela Bezon and executives of the Strube Celery & Vegetable Company hosted the officials for a meeting and tour of the market, followed by a press conference with local media. "We were pleased to show Secretary Leavitt how fresh produce from around the world is distributed to consumers through the Chicago produce market," Angela said. "This was an important opportunity to show the Secretary how produce moves through the middle of our industry," she said.
