On Monday, United Fresh Vice President of Nutrition and Health Dr. Lorelei DiSogra spoke to the Food and Society Policy Fellows about fruit and vegetable nutrition priorities for the 2007 Farm Bill. The Food and Society Policy Fellowship Program, sponsored by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, supports experienced media and communications professionals with an interest in food systems, policy, food security and health. DiSogra discussed the convergence of agriculture and public health in the 2007 Farm Bill and how the industry’s nutrition priorities would help increase children’s fruit and vegetable consumption and accomplish national health goals. "Throughout their week in Washington, the fellows advocated for many of our priorities in their meetings on Capitol Hill and with the Administration," said DiSogra. "As media and communications professionals, many were interested in how they can assist our policy efforts." For more information, please contact Lorelei DiSogra, 202-303-3403.
