Washington, D.C. - Once promised to eat his shoe if Hillary Clinton’s memoirs sold a million copies, and then publicly accepted a cake, baked in the shape of a “right wing-tip,” presented by Clinton herself, after the book sold well over a million copies. Such is the dynamic personality and Washington insider experiences that MSNBC Anchor Tucker Carlson will share with United Fresh Washington Public Policy Conference attendees when he speaks to the group on the afternoon of Friday, September 14th.

“Throughout the week, conference attendees will hear from administration officials and members of congress; this is a chance to get the media’s perspective on what goes on in Washington,” said Robert Guenther, senior vice president of public policy at United Fresh. “Tucker will add a no-holds-barred element that is bound to keep the discussion lively.”

Prior to joining MSNBC in February 2005, Carlson was the youngest anchor in the history of CNN where he hosted a number of shows and specials, including the network’s political debate program, Crossfire. During the same period, Carlson also hosted Tucker Carlson: Unfiltered, a weekly public affairs program on PBS.

A longtime magazine and newspaper journalist, Carlson has reported from around the world, including from Iraq and Lebanon. He has been a columnist for New York magazine and Reader’s Digest, and he currently writes for Esquire, The Weekly Standard and New York Times magazine. Carlson began his journalism career at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette newspaper in Little Rock. His first book, Politicians, Partisans and Parasites: My Adventures in Cable News, was published in the fall of 2003.
