United Fresh kicks off its 13th year of the Produce Industry Leadership Program with a new class of industry professionals from different segment and regions throughout the produce industry. Sponsored by a generous grant from DuPont Crop Protection, the program has graduated more than 140 leadership fellows since its inception in 1995. The members of the 2007-2008 program include: Chris Ciruli, Ciruli Brothers/Amex Distributing Co.; Todd Eagan, Costco Wholesale; Amy Feldman, Pom Wonderful; Anthony Gallino, California Giant; Phil Gilardi, Freshway Foods; Erin Hanas Archey, A. Duda & Sons; James Higham, Potandon Produce; Ken Holthouse, Doug Walcher Farms; Jennifer Moss, Southern Specialties; Gordon Smith, California Tree Fruit Agreement; and Cali Tanguay, Apio. The class will convene for their first time in Central/Northern California at the end of June. The fellows will also travel to Washington, DC to attend the upcoming WPPC and visit Wilmington, DE to see the DuPont Headquarters in September, followed by trips to Southern Texas, and Las Vegas Nevada for the 2008 United Fresh Show.
