The Agricultural Coalition for Immigration Reform (ACIR) and the National Coalition for Agricultural Employers (NCAE) this week released the U.S. Department of Labor's 2007 Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs) for H-2A program participants. AEWRs are the minimum wage rates that must be paid to all H-2A employees for services rendered on and after February 21, 2007. The new rates are now in effect regardless of the approval of lower rates for H-2A applications previously certified. United Fresh serves on the steering committee for ACIR and is an active participant in the NCAE coalition. Additional information, including a geographical list of the DOL's AEWRs, can be found by visiting United Fresh's website at: www.unitedfresh.org. For more information, please contact Autumn Veazey at (202) 303-3427.
