CDFA Holds First Meeting for Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement

The California Department of Food and Agriculture held the first meeting of the newly-appointed Board of the Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement today. During this first meeting, the Board elected Joe Pezzini, Ocean Mist Farms, as its Chairman, and Eric Schwartz, Dole Fresh Vegetables, as its Vice Chairman. Other Executive Committee members elected were Mitch Ardantz, Bonita Packing Company; Ryan Talley, Talley Farms; and Jack Vessey, Vessey and Company. The Board formed committees to address scientific and technical issues, as well as educational outreach. The next meeting of the Board was set for March 5.
