Sen. Hilary Clinton hosted a meeting of New York and national ag leaders this week to discuss priorities for the coming Farm Bill. New York members Jim Allen, New York Apple Association, and Paul Baker, New York State Horticultural Society, joined United Fresh President Tom Stenzel, Senior Vice President Robert Guenther, USApple President Nancy Foster and Director of Public Affairs Diane Coates at the meeting. "Sen. Clinton showed a good understanding of the needs of fruits and vegetables in New York, as well as nationally," said Stenzel. "She responded very favorably to our industry's call for a Farm Bill that meets the needs of rural New York State but also urban consumers in New York City. Increased fruit and vegetable consumption is the key to bridging that gap and producing a Farm Bill for all of America," Stenzel said.
