Members Encouraged to Nominate Retail Award Candidates

United Fresh is now accepting applications for its annual Retail Produce Manager Awards Program, sponsored for the third consecutive year by Ready Pac, which will honor 20 retail produce managers and their corporate produce directors for excellence in produce marketing and merchandising at the store level. Winners will be recognized during a new Retail Awards Banquet on opening night of the Fresh Marketplace show in Chicago, IL, May 5-8, 2007. "The support from supermarket executives to honor their front-line produce staff has been tremendous," said United Fresh President Tom Stenzel. "This program is really demonstrating what a difference great employees, empowered by their management, can make on the front line of produce industry sales." All United Fresh retail member companies are eligible to submit applications, as well as member produce companies and commissions whose work with retailers gives them insight into the top store level managers nationwide.
