New Produce Safety Summit To Unveil at FreshTech 2007; Registration Now Open
January 5, 2007
Registration for United FreshTech 2007, April 25-28 in Palm Springs, CA, is now open. This year's event will offer the fresh produce supply chain an important new opportunity to enhance the safety of value-added produce and learn about new technologies and solutions to ensure produce safety. New for 2007, FreshTech will include a separate, educational conference, "Produce Safety Summit," immediately before the Expo & Conference, to bring together produce business leaders, researchers, academia, food safety experts, foodservice and retail quality assurance staff, government officials, and suppliers of food safety services to discuss issues and formulate solutions to address produce safety concerns. In addition to educational sessions, the FreshTech Expo will feature a new Food Safety and Research Pavilion - a focal point on the show floor for new technologies, goods and services relating to produce safety. "The Produce Safety Summit is an important addition to the FreshTech event," said United Fresh Senior Vice President for Food Safety and Technology Dr. Jim Gorny. "This is a critical time for our entire industry to come together in looking at new food safety technologies and solutions." Registration for all FreshTech 2007 events is available online at www.freshtech.org or via the United Fresh website at www.unitedfresh.org. The best value for United Fresh members is the All-Access FreshTech Pass, providing access to the Produce Safety Summit, Global FreshTech Conference, Food Safety and Research Pavilion, the FreshTech Expo floor, and all meals and networking events.
