United Fresh Produce Association has completed the 2012 Fresh Impact Tour! The month-long member outreach tour began in February with stops in the Southeast and Pacific Northwest, and continued though California and Texas in March. The spring Fresh Impact tour included more than ten town halls, dozens of visits to member farms, packing facilities, wholesalers and retailers. The town halls provided a unique chance for the produce industry to come together and discuss food safety, labor, nutrition and the upcoming Farm Bill. The visits to farms and facilities spotlight how members are addressing these concerns and taking advantage of industry opportunities. United also took the tour global this year, with a Leadership Program trip that explored the Chilean produce industry and a Fresh Impact Forum at Fruit Logistica in Berlin, Germany.
Throughout the trip, members and staff posted updates and photos to the United Fresh Facebook and Twitter pages to facilitate engagement and discussion among the entire industry.
