The United Board of Directors is the leadership body with ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the association represents its overall membership. Board members are recommended for service by a Nominating Committee, and then elected by the membership. Members serve two-year terms, and may be elected to a second consecutive term before leaving the Board for one year before further service.
The Board consists of four elected officers - Chairman, Chairman-Elect, Immediate Past Chairman, and Secretary-Treasurer.
The Board includes from 38-42 members, with flexibility provided to the Nominating Committee in ensuring representation from all sectors of the industry, various commodity groups, geographic locations and companies large and small.
The current Board was elected at the Annual Meeting in April 2010, and is led by Steffanie Smith, CEO,
River Point Farms, LLC, as Chairman.

Executive Committee members click here for access
to private intranet for Board business
Ten members of the Board serve on the Executive Committee, which provides leadership to the association between regularly scheduled Board meetings. The Executive Committee consists of the association’s four elected officers, the chairmen of each of the association’s market segment boards, plus two at-large members from the Board.
