United Fresh Produce Association is led by more than 250 individuals currently serving in elected or appointed positions of leadership.  These volunteer leaders represent United member companies throughout the entire produce supply chain from farm to table.  United is unique among produce associations in that every sector of the supply chain has its own board as part of the association's leadership, giving a strong voice to each sector in order to better ensure a united voice for the industry.  Member leaders nominated for service from different segments of the industry are chosen in proportion to the association's overall membership.

United Board of Directors

The United Board of Directors serves as the senior volunteer leadership group for the association, with representation directly proportional to overall association membership.

Market Segment Boards

United Fresh members are elected by the membership to serve on four market segment boards representing different sectors of the supply chain.  Each board includes 20 members, and works to identify and advance issues of importance within its market sector.  Market segment boards are designed to ensure that the association understands and meets the business needs of each sector, addressing critical issues and implementing programs that deliver member value to all members.

The chairman and vice chairman of each market segment board fill an automatic seat on the Board of Directors, ensuring direct representation of each market segment’s needs in all Board deliberations.  Market segment board members serve a term of two years.

Expert Advisory Councils

United Fresh members provide their expertise to association leadership on a variety of functional areas addressed by expert advisory councils.  Each council includes members with specific expertise in an area of importance to the association’s work.  Members are appointed by the Chairman of the Board and may provide ongoing service due to their special expertise.

The chairman of each expert advisory council fills an automatic seat on the Board of Directors, ensuring direct expertise from each council in all Board deliberations.
